Over 600 Kenyans stranded in Cambodia demand urgent evacuation after being deceived by agents and left without documents or support.
Over 600 Kenyan citizens stranded in Cambodia have filed a constitutional petition in Nairobi’s High Court, alleging they were deceived by recruitment agents into traveling abroad with promises of jobs, only to be confined in guarded compounds, forced to work 16-hour days, and denied food, medical care, and travel documents.
After a Cambodian raid, their captors fled, leaving them without support or legal status, facing possible arrest if they remain past February 28, 2026.
They accuse Kenyan government agencies of failing to protect them and are seeking emergency travel documents, consular assistance, and government-funded evacuation within 48 hours.
The High Court is expected to issue urgent orders and hold a hearing soon.
