NFL considers using replay to catch post-play penalties like punches, after a Super Bowl incident.
The NFL is considering letting replay officials flag certain non-football acts, like punches or unsportsmanlike conduct, that aren’t caught by on-field referees, following a controversial Super Bowl LX incident where a player struck an opponent after the play ended.
Troy Vincent, the league’s vice president of football operations, said the proposal would be limited in scope, aiming to improve accuracy without overexpanding replay authority.
The idea is under review by the competition committee, with no final decision made.
