New Zealand is launching $40M in new science, math, and writing resources for schools to boost student achievement by 2030.
New Zealand is rolling out new science, maths, and English resources to schools, including a teacher-facilitated writing programme for Years 6 to 10 students behind in literacy, digital maths materials for Years 9 and 10, and hands-on science kits for primary schools.
The initiatives, funded by a $40 million investment, aim to improve student achievement and support the government’s goal of having 80% of Year 8 students at or above curriculum levels in reading, writing, and maths by 2030.
The resources will be available to around 140,000 students annually, with 120,000 writing tool licences and support for 6,000 teachers.
Full national coverage of science kits is expected by early 2027.
