A new 29-home residential project has opened on Emerald Way in Chorlton, transforming the former Irish Club car park into energy-efficient apartments with shared ownership options, completed ahead of schedule and supported by the government’s Affordable Homes Programme.
In Wilmslow, Royal London has submitted plans for a £100 million build-to-rent development with 286 apartments, including 20% affordable units, on a former office site.
Meanwhile, Manchester’s Embassy Village, a 40-home shelter for rough sleepers, has opened beneath railway arches in Castlefield, funded by donations and built through public-private charity collaboration, offering private homes and shared community spaces.
