A musical adaptation of William Kamkwamba’s true story, *The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind*, opens in Stratford on February 24, 2026, telling of a Malawian teen who built a windmill from scrap during the 2001 famine to bring electricity to his village.
Directed by Lynette Linton and featuring music by Tim Sutton and lyrics by Richy Hughes, the production blends Malawian and reggae sounds with striking visuals, including a 7-meter wind turbine built live on stage.
It runs in Stratford until March 28 before transferring to London’s West End from April 25 to July 18.
