Melbourne Storm chair Matt Tripp cancels U.S. trip to testify in court over Zac Lomax’s disputed 2026 transfer from Parramatta Eels.
Melbourne Storm chairman Matt Tripp has canceled his trip to the NRL’s Las Vegas opening game to testify in a NSW Supreme Court hearing over winger Zac Lomax’s 2026 transfer bid.
Lomax, who left the Parramatta Eels without permission, is suing to join the Storm, with the Eels claiming he breached his $700,000-a-year contract.
Tripp, a key witness, was denied the ability to testify via video link from the U.S. and must appear in person, disrupting his business tour.
The Eels’ barrister questioned Tripp’s credibility, alleging he implied the NRL might penalize Parramatta with salary cap sanctions if they blocked the move—claims the NRL denies.
The trial continues.
