Arunachal Pradesh's CM praised MSMEs' economic impact and announced major funding and support for startups and women entrepreneurs.
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu highlighted the MSME sector’s critical role in India’s economy during a national awareness event, stating it supports over 7 crore enterprises and benefits 31 crore people.
He emphasized government initiatives since 2014, including 25% government procurement for MSMEs with reserved quotas for SC/ST entrepreneurs and women, and announced Rs 10,000 crore in growth funds, Rs 2,000 crore for micro enterprises, and over Rs 7 lakh crore in liquidity support under the Union Budget 2026.
Khandu urged youth to pursue entrepreneurship, citing the state’s 300 active startups, 1.5 lakh women in Self Help Groups, and potential in hydropower, mining, agriculture, and orchid cultivation.
State programs like the Entrepreneurship Development Institute, Innovation & Investment Park, and industrial incentives including tax exemptions and power subsidies aim to drive inclusive growth.
