British-Nigerian actress Wunmi Mosaku won the BAFTA for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Annie in *Sinners*, becoming the first Black British woman to receive the award. The 39-year-old, who was visibly pregnant during the ceremony, said the role helped her reconnect with her ancestral identity and suppressed heritage as an immigrant. She dedicated the win to her daughter, praised director Ryan Coogler for fostering a spiritually grounded set, and highlighted the powerful response from Black women who felt seen. *Sinners* also won Best Original Screenplay. The 2026 BAFTA Film Awards were hosted by Alan Cumming, with *Avatar: Fire And Ash* winning best visual effects and *Frankenstein* taking home awards for production design and make-up.
