A Victorville man arrested Feb. 21 is accused of fatally shooting two women and injuring another in a Feb. 20 residential shooting.

A 45-year-old Victorville man, Sydney Smith, was arrested on suspicion of fatally shooting two women and injuring a third in a residential shooting on February 20, 2026, in Victorville. Ayanna Smith, 48, and Annaya Scott, 26, both from Cerritos, died from their injuries, while a 28-year-old Redlands man remained hospitalized. Deputies responded to the 13000 block of Sundown Road just before 9 p.m. The suspect, a family member of the victims, was taken into custody on February 21 and held without bail. Authorities have not disclosed the motive or the relationship between the individuals, and the investigation is ongoing.
