Kerala has signed ₹2,000 crore agreements with three central public sector units—IOCL, CONCOR, and CWC—to expand logistics infrastructure at the Vizhinjam International Seaport, aiming to boost trade and public control over key assets.
The projects include fuel bunkering, rail-road cargo systems, and a multi-modal logistics park.
The move, led by state-owned VISL, strengthens the port’s role in national and global supply chains while preventing monopolies and supporting local exporters.
The MoUs were signed in Thiruvananthapuram, with Union Minister Suresh Gopi citing his 2014 appeal to Prime Minister Modi as pivotal in securing the project for Kerala.
