India’s Election Commission holds its first national round table in 27 years to boost election coordination and tech-driven reforms ahead of upcoming state polls.
The Election Commission of India will host its first National Round Table Conference in 27 years on February 24, 2026, in New Delhi, bringing together state election officials, technical experts, and Chief Electoral Officers from all 36 states and union territories.
Chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, the event aims to strengthen coordination between the ECI and state bodies, promote cooperative federalism, and enhance electoral processes through technology, including the ECINET digital platform and Electronic Voting Machines.
Discussions will focus on EVM safeguards, electoral roll accuracy, and state-wise voter eligibility under the Representation of the People Act, 1950, ahead of upcoming state elections.
