Former rugby star Wendell Sailor, 51, has pleaded guilty to resisting police in Wollongong, NSW, on December 5, 2025, after allegedly standing in the road, yelling, and resisting officers while reportedly under the influence.
He spent one night in custody and was released in handcuffs wearing a Chicago Bulls t-shirt.
A related charge was dropped.
Sailor, a former Wallabies and NRL player with 222 club appearances and 37 international caps, did not attend Wollongong Local Court, where his legal team entered the plea.
Magistrate Michael Stoddart called the case straightforward, with sentencing negotiations ongoing.
Sailor is set to be sentenced in Sydney in January 2026, alongside other unrelated charges.
