A Welsh lecturer banned from teaching for sending sexual messages to students must wait two years to apply for reinstatement.
Christopher Williams Davies, a lecturer at Coleg y Cymoedd in Wales, has been permanently banned from teaching after a professional conduct panel found he sent sexually suggestive messages to at least two students between October and November 2023.
The panel reviewed messages in which Davies used terms like “sweet cheeks” and “good girl,” sent suggestive images including a chocolate bar on his lap, and expressed concern about others seeing the conversations.
He also gave one student a chocolate bar, which the panel viewed as part of an inappropriate interaction.
The Education Workforce Council issued a Prohibition Order on January 22, 2026, removing Davies from the teaching register indefinitely.
He cannot apply for reinstatement for two years, and if he fails to meet requirements by January 22, 2028, the ban will be permanent.
He had 28 days to appeal to the High Court.
