U.S. and UK jets conducted routine low-altitude training flights over northern England’s Lake District.
Military jets, including U.S. aircraft, were seen flying at low altitudes over the Lake District on Wednesday afternoon near 4 p.m., visible above Bassenthwaite Lake and the Solway Estuary.
The flights occurred within Low Flying Area 17 (LFA 17), a designated zone used by the Royal Air Force and allied forces across northern England.
Aircraft typically fly between 100 and 250 feet above ground level along established routes such as Windermere–Thirlmere–Keswick, Windermere–Kirkstone Pass–Ullswater, and the M6 Pass corridor.
The activity is part of routine military training and not linked to any emergency.
