Two hundred Kenyan youth graduated from Huawei’s mobile digital skills program, part of a nationwide effort to boost digital literacy and economic inclusion.
Two hundred Kenyan youth from the northeastern semi-arid region have graduated from a six-week digital skills program via Huawei’s DigiTruck initiative, a mobile, solar-powered classroom that provides free training in digital literacy, online safety, data privacy, and entrepreneurship.
The program, launched in 2019, has reached 40 of Kenya’s 47 counties and trained about 9,000 youth.
The Nairobi graduation ceremony drew government officials, lawmakers, and industry leaders who highlighted the initiative’s role in reducing the digital divide and supporting economic inclusion.
Huawei Kenya’s Yuta Leng reaffirmed the company’s commitment to youth empowerment through skills training and mentorship, with the program implemented in partnership with state agencies.
