The 55th Trofeo Princesa Sofía Mallorca, running 27 March to 4 April 2026, launches the Olympic sailing season with all ten current Olympic disciplines, including the 470 Mixed and Nacra 17, both set for the 2028 Los Angeles Games. The mixed-crew events, now requiring one male and one female sailor, have raised competition levels, with top teams like Spain’s Jordi Xammar and Marta Cardona, Britain’s John Gimson and Anna Burnet, and Spain’s Joan Cardona and Nicole Van der Velden among the favorites. The Nacra 17, a foiling catamaran since Tokyo 2020, and the 470 Mixed, restructured from separate events, demand high physical and mental performance. The event, featuring up to 15 races, serves as a key test ahead of the 2026 European Championships in Vilamoura.
