In 2015, Scott and April Shanaman rescued Maine’s Lost Valley Ski Area from closure, transforming it into a thriving winter destination. Facing a delayed opening due to warm weather, they invested in upgrades including a new carpet lift, a third chairlift in 2024, and lodge improvements. With Scott’s ski lift expertise and April’s commitment, the resort expanded with new trails and amenities. Under General Manager John Herrick, annual enhancements and strong community support helped the area achieve record seasons. The Shanamans remain actively involved, prioritizing sustainable growth and preserving a local recreation hub.
