Professor Lisa McNally nominated for national award for leading public health initiatives that reduced hospital admissions, deaths, and mental health crises in Worcestershire.
Professor Lisa McNally, Worcestershire’s director of public health, has been nominated for a national award in the 2026 Local Government Chronicle Awards for her leadership in public health.
Her work, particularly through the data-driven Priority Neighbourhood Development programme, has led to early reductions in emergency hospital admissions and Children in Need referrals in Droitwich’s Westlands estate.
She has also contributed to lower preventable deaths, smoking rates, and fall-related hospitalizations.
Nationally, she has advanced public mental health through the Mentally Healthier Councils Network.
The winners will be announced on June 10, 2026, in London.
