A man drove a snowplow into a crowd at a protest, injuring people and getting arrested.
A 65-year-old Rockland man, Michael Robinson, was arrested on felony charges of reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon and driving to endanger after allegedly driving a snowplow with its blade lowered into a crowd of about 75 people at Chapman Park during a weekly pro-democracy protest. The incident, which occurred on Saturday, caused snow and ice to strike attendees, knocking some to the ground. Robinson was booked into Knox County Jail, with additional assault charges expected. The Rockland Police Department affirmed support for peaceful assembly but stated violence or intimidation will not be tolerated, announcing increased police presence at future events amid a recent rise in incidents at the park.
