A man died after police shot him in Heidelberg following a 911 call about him threatening harm with a knife.
A man was shot and killed by police in Heidelberg, Allegheny County, late Monday night after a 911 call reported him threatening self-harm and harm to others while holding a knife. Officers arrived, ordered him to drop the weapon, and tased him, but he charged forward. A Scott Township officer then shot him multiple times. The man was pronounced dead at a local hospital; his identity has not been released. The Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating.
