A man died in a grain bin accident Saturday afternoon in southern Harvey County, Kansas, when soybeans shifted unexpectedly, trapping him during work to level and empty the bin.
Three men were inside when the incident occurred at 2:30 p.m. at the 2100 block of South Spencer Road.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene; the other two escaped without injury.
Authorities ruled the incident accidental.
Emergency responders from Newton, Halstead, and Sedgwick County assisted, and Spencer Road was temporarily rerouted but has since reopened.
The deceased’s identity has not been released pending family notification.
