The Professional Golf Tour of India launched 72 The League, a new team-based matchplay golf tournament in New Delhi featuring six teams of ten players each.
The event, using formats like singles, fourballs, and foursomes rarely seen in Indian professional golf, includes top Indian players such as Honey Baisoya and Shaurya Bhattacharya, along with 16-year-old Kartik Singh and international talent like U.S. player Jhared Hack.
Organized by PGTI, the league aims to boost competitive depth and visibility of Indian golf, offering a Ryder Cup-style team experience.
The tournament’s trophy was designed by artist Vibhor Sogani and unveiled by ICC Chairman Jay Shah and PGTI President Kapil Dev.
Players praised the collaborative format and its potential to elevate the sport.
