Dylan Scott, 27, of Sarnia, was sentenced to one year in jail and two years of probation for assault with a weapon and causing bodily harm following a violent fight with a woman at her apartment on Nov. 15, 2024. The incident, which began after both were intoxicated, escalated into a mutual altercation where the woman slashed Scott, who then stabbed her with a knife, causing multiple injuries requiring stitches. Scott also sustained serious wounds and was treated at Bluewater Health. He pleaded guilty to two charges as part of a plea deal, with others dropped. Crown and defence lawyers recommended a sentence slightly over one year, which Justice Jason Howie accepted, noting Scott’s history of violence and substance use, while acknowledging credibility challenges due to intoxication. Scott has remained sober since incarceration and committed to sobriety.
