Bangladesh’s tribunal demands surrender of six fugitives, including ex-PM Sheikh Hasina, over 2016 raid that killed nine.
Bangladesh’s International Crimes Tribunal-1 has ordered newspaper notices demanding the surrender of six fugitive accused, including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, over the 2016 Jahajbari raid that killed nine people.
The tribunal, led by Justice Golam Murtaza Mazumder, issued arrest warrants on January 29 and adjourned the case to March 8.
The raid, alleged to have been staged, involved law enforcement officers and drew claims that victims had no militant ties despite being linked to a banned group.
Two accused, former IGP AKM Shahidul Haque and former DMP commissioner Asaduzzaman Miah, are already in custody.
Related cases involving other killings are also under review.
