911 service in Santa Clarita Valley restored after power outage disrupted calls overnight.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that 911 service in the Santa Clarita Valley, disrupted since 6:02 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, due to a power outage affecting the third-party Vesta System, was fully restored by 7:20 a.m. Friday, Feb. 20.
During the outage, emergency calls were redirected to patrol station business lines, and some stations accepted 911 text messages with location and details.
LASD personnel worked with the provider to restore service and are investigating the cause.
The department affirmed continued emergency response coverage throughout the incident.
