A new American Psycho remake faces casting issues, with top actors declining the lead role, per author Bret Easton Ellis.
Lionsgate's upcoming remake of American Psycho, directed by Luca Guadagnino and written by Scott Z. Burns, faces casting challenges as multiple high-profile actors have reportedly declined the role of Patrick Bateman, according to author Bret Easton Ellis.
Ellis said the new version will be a distinct reimagining with no resemblance to the 2000 film, which starred Christian Bale.
A revised script has been completed, and production continues with Frenesy Films and Sam Pressman involved.
No official casting or release date has been announced.
