A man was shot dead by officers in Washington after refusing commands while armed in a tank during a rural response.
A 33-year-old man, Aaron Ammann, was shot and killed by five Grant County deputies and Moses Lake officers on February 16, 2026, during a law enforcement response to an open investigation in rural Moses Lake, Washington.
Body-camera footage shows Ammann, armed with a rifle, hiding in a large plastic tank and refusing to comply with commands.
He was heard yelling “center mass” before exiting the tank still armed.
