Reliance’s Jio Studios has withdrawn its anti-piracy lawsuit against major telecom and cable providers in the Madras High Court, ending a legal bid to block unauthorized distribution of the film Dhurandhar ahead of its March 19 theatrical release.
The case, filed under the Copyright Act, 1957, sought permanent injunctions to prevent online and cable piracy and had previously received interim relief on December 5.
The court, presided over by Justice Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy, accepted the withdrawal on February 18, dismissing the suit without costs.
No reasons were given for the撤回, and the film remains on track for its release with Ranveer Singh returning as the lead.
