Ireland’s High Court named a provisional liquidator for two insolvent Cork hotels owing €1.5M in unpaid taxes.
The High Court has appointed John Healy of Kroll Advisory as provisional liquidator for two Cork-based hotel companies, Blue Cross Holdings Ltd and Larmona Ltd, which operated properties including the Blue Haven Hotel, Hamlets of Kinsale Bar, and the Schull Harbour Hotel. The companies are insolvent and owe about €1.5 million to Irish Revenue, with Blue Cross no longer trading. The appointment follows financial distress dating to 2008, a breakdown in the brothers Ciaran and Cormac Fitzgerald’s business relationship in 2013, and denied personal injury claims filed by Cormac in 2023. Ciaran Fitzgerald is now the sole owner of Larmona Ltd. Liquor licenses remain under the companies’ names, blocked from interim transfer due to unpaid taxes. The case is set to return to court next month.
