Muslims, Buddhists, Orthodox Christians, and mainline Protestants also exceed the national average of 35%. Evangelical Protestants, Catholics, and historically Black Protestants fall below the average. The survey of 36,908 adults reflects immigration patterns favoring skilled and educated arrivals. Despite high education levels, these groups remain small, each making up under 2% of the population.
