De'Andre Hunter will miss the rest of the 2025-26 season after surgery for a retinal detachment sustained in a February 6 game.
Sacramento Kings forward De'Andre Hunter will miss the rest of the 2025-26 season after undergoing surgery for a retinal detachment sustained in a February 6 game against the Los Angeles Clippers. The procedure was performed on February 21 by Dr. M. Ali Khan at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Roseville, California. Hunter, 28, had started both games for the Kings after being acquired in a trade from the Cleveland Cavaliers on February 1. The team expects a full recovery, with another update due in about eight weeks. The Kings, already without stars Domantas Sabonis and Zach LaVine due to season-ending injuries, remain near the bottom of the NBA standings with a 12-45 record.
