A bomb threat led to a lockdown and evacuation of Lubbock High School on Feb. 20, 2026, with no explosives found and no suspect identified.
On February 20, 2026, Lubbock High School in Texas was placed on lockdown and evacuated after an anonymous caller reported multiple bombs on campus and threatened to shoot law enforcement.
Authorities, including Lubbock ISD Police, Lubbock Police Department, and the Texas Department of Public Safety, responded with bomb-sniffing dogs and conducted a thorough search, finding no explosives.
Nearly 2,000 students were moved to the district’s central office for reunification with parents, who had to be on an approved list and show valid ID to pick up children.
No suspect has been identified, the school remained closed for the day, and access to the building was restricted.
Officials confirmed the campus was clear but stressed that making such threats is a serious felony, punishable by prison time and fines, regardless of intent.
