The BMW India Foundation launched in 2025 a program to support sustainable livelihoods for traditional Indian artisans, partnering with local organizations in central India and Punjab.
Around 40 tribal artists from Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, and Maharashtra receive mentorship and training in Gond, Warli, and other indigenous art forms, while 30 Phulkari embroiderers in Punjab gain skills in sustainable techniques and modern design.
