BBC replaced Casualty with live Six Nations rugby on Feb. 21; show returns Feb. 28.
The BBC pulled its long-running drama Casualty from its Saturday evening schedule on February 21, 2026, to air live coverage of the Six Nations rugby match between Wales and Scotland at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium.
The game, commentated by Gabby Logan and John Inverdale, began at 4pm with kick-off 40 minutes later.
Following the match, the revived Gladiators aired at 7:15pm, followed by Michael McIntyre’s Big Show at 8:15pm and the new drama The Walsh Sisters at 9:15pm before the news.
Casualty is set to return on February 28.
Fans expressed disappointment on social media, though the scheduling change is unrelated to the Winter Olympics.
