Oregon Rep. Jason Kropf faces internal probe after allegedly pressuring colleague to switch vote on gun law delay bill.
Oregon Rep. Jason Kropf is under internal investigation after being accused of pressuring fellow Democrat Thủy Trần to change her vote on HB 4145, a bill to delay implementation of Oregon’s 2022 gun laws.
The controversy followed a 20-minute hallway meeting after Trần initially voted no on an amendment, then switched to yes, allowing the bill to advance.
Trần said the encounter created a hostile environment, while a complaint alleges intimidation.
Kropf denies wrongdoing, and the House Speaker acknowledged the session’s stress without commenting on the incident.
The bill, which would delay gun laws pending a Supreme Court ruling, has not yet been voted on by the full chamber.
