National Broadband Ireland has connected over 5,000 homes, businesses, and farms in County Mayo to high-speed fibre broadband, with 18,749 premises now eligible to order service.
The rollout, part of the government’s National Broadband Plan, targets remote areas where commercial providers haven’t invested, backed by €145 million in public funding.
The project aims to deliver minimum speeds of 500 Mbps to all connected premises ahead of the planned 2030 switch-off of legacy copper networks.
