A measles case linked to international travel exposed others at LAX and in South LA from Feb. 9–13; health officials urge vaccination.
A Los Angeles County resident with measles, linked to international travel, arrived at LAX on February 9 on Singapore Airlines Flight 0038 and may have exposed others in Terminal B between 7:30 p.m. and 9:40 p.m.
The individual also visited multiple locations in Montebello and Whittier from February 10 to 13.
Health officials urge those potentially exposed to check immunity status and consider the MMR vaccine, as measles cases nationwide have risen sharply, with 910 cases reported by February 12—the highest since 2000—mostly among unvaccinated individuals.
