Kerala to distribute 178 homes to landslide survivors in Feb 2026; Congress to add 50 more.
On February 25, 2026, Kerala’s Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the first phase of the Wayanad Model Township, distributing title deeds for 178 homes to families displaced by the 2024 landslides.
Built on 64.47 hectares in Kalpetta, the project includes essential infrastructure and aims to house over 1,660 people.
A second phase plans to expand to 327 beneficiaries before the next monsoon.
Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi will lay the foundation for 50 additional homes in Meppadi on February 26, part of a Congress-led initiative providing land, housing, and financial aid to landslide survivors and excluded traders.
