ICICI Pension Fund has launched India’s first Swasthya Pension Scheme under the NPS, allowing investors to grow retirement savings with high equity exposure while accessing up to 25% of their personal contributions for medical expenses via Apollo 24|7.
The product, piloting in Bengaluru and Hyderabad, permits unlimited partial withdrawals after ₹50,000 accumulation and full withdrawal if medical costs exceed 70% of the corpus.
Designed as a proof-of-concept under PFRDA’s regulatory sandbox, it aims to reduce out-of-pocket healthcare spending and complement health insurance, with future conservative options under consideration.
