Huntsville Hospital approves $14M medical center in Moulton to replace closed inpatient services and expand rural healthcare access.
Huntsville Hospital Health System has received approval to build a $14 million medical center in Moulton, Alabama, on 20 acres along Highway 24.
The 10,000-square-foot facility, set to begin construction in May and take 14 to 16 months, will feature urgent care, diagnostic imaging, therapy, lab services, and a community room.
It will replace inpatient services previously offered at Lawrence Medical Center, which ended last year.
The new center, managed by Decatur Morgan Hospital, will expand access to advanced care, including 3D mammography and upgraded CT and MRI, while supporting recruitment of medical professionals.
Four existing rural health clinics will continue operating.
