Embraer and Mahindra plan an Indian C-390 MRO facility if India selects the aircraft for its military transport program.
Embraer and India’s Mahindra Group plan to build a maintenance, repair, and overhaul facility in India for the C-390 Millennium military transport aircraft, contingent on India’s selection of the plane for its Medium Transport Aircraft program.
The MRO hub, part of a broader localization effort, will provide full-service support including maintenance, repairs, training, and component overhauls to boost aircraft readiness.
The partnership, aligned with India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, also includes local production of the C-390 and aims to expand Indian industry involvement in Embraer’s global supply chain.
The C-390 competes with the Airbus A400M and Lockheed Martin C-130J to replace aging Russian transport aircraft.
