The Department of Homeland Security admitted errors in its "worst of the worst" database, acknowledging that about 5% of entries contained inaccurate crime charges, with the glitch now fixed.
The site still lists roughly 25,000 immigrants, including 20 in Maine, some with outdated, unrelated, or unverified charges.
DHS has not disclosed the total number of detentions during a recent five-day enforcement operation, and investigations found many listed individuals had minor or non-Maine offenses, or were transferred from local to federal custody without clear records.
The database, launched in December, has been used to justify deportations, but inaccuracies have sparked concerns over public trust and due process.
