A Cambridge man was sentenced to 4.5 years in prison for a 2023 premeditated attack, kidnapping, and robbery of a vulnerable victim.
A man in Cambridge was sentenced to four and a half years in prison after being found guilty of a premeditated attack in June 2023, during which he lured a vulnerable victim to a house, assaulted him, held him captive for hours, and robbed him of money and bank details.
The victim escaped during a car ride, flagged down a passerby, and was hospitalized with severe injuries, including a fractured eye socket and skull swelling.
Police found blood at the scene, traced a blocked fraudulent transfer to the suspect, Chemseddine Lahouel-Guettala, 35, and arrested him at Luton Airport in June 2025.
Despite denying the charges, evidence including incriminating messages on his seized phone led to a guilty verdict on assault, false imprisonment, and robbery.
The judge called the attack targeted and malicious.
Authorities praised public intervention and reaffirmed their commitment to justice.
