Caledon hosts a mobile exhibit celebrating Black Canadian inventors in STEM during Black History Month.
For Black History Month, the Town of Caledon is hosting the African Inventors and Icons Exhibition, a mobile display by the Canadian Multicultural Inventors Museum (CMIM), highlighting contributions of African and Black Canadians in STEM fields.
Curated by CMIM President Francis Jeffers, a biochemist and Dominica-born community advocate, the exhibit aims to increase representation in science education by showcasing diverse inventors and offering resources like e-books and flashcards.
Events are scheduled in Caledon East, Southfields, and the Caledon Centre for Recreation and Wellness.
CMIM also features innovators from other marginalized communities, promoting inclusion and a more reflective national identity.
