On February 20, 2026, Brenda Edwards opened the Self Belief Creative Community Hub in west London, marking four years since her son Jamal Edwards’ death.
The hub, launched by the Jamal Edwards Self Belief Trust she co-founded with her daughter, provides young people with creative and employability programs, including music and podcast studios, co-working spaces, and a subsidised kitchen.
Edwards said the project helps her cope with grief and fulfills her son’s vision of empowering youth and building community, guided by a letter of wishes he left behind.
Located in Acton, the neighborhood where Jamal grew up, the space honors his legacy as a music entrepreneur who helped launch the careers of artists like Dave, Jessie J, and Ed Sheeran.
