Barbara Knox, 92, is one of Coronation Street’s longest-serving cast members, playing Rita Tanner since 1964. Known for major storylines including a brain tumor diagnosis and the tram crash, Rita has been married three times and received 15 marriage proposals, more than any other character. Knox, who earned an MBE in 2010, reportedly makes £200,000 annually, making her one of the show’s highest-paid actors. William Roache, the top earner at £250,000, has supplemented his income through Cameo, books, and a 2023 ITV documentary. Other top earners include Michael Le Vell and Simon Gregson.
