Two men convicted of kidnapping a man in Stockton, forcing him to record a ransom video, with sentencing set for April 7, 2026.
Mark Pearce, 52, and Donald Hammond, 43, were convicted of conspiracy to kidnap after a man was abducted in Stockton in April 2024, taken to a caravan near the A19, bound, beaten, and forced to record a ransom video.
Both denied involvement, with Hammond claiming he was not in Stockton and his phone connected to local towers because it was in a rented car used by a friend.
CCTV showed the car following Pearce’s Land Rover into the field, but Hammond denied riding in it.
The jury rejected their claims, delivering a unanimous verdict at Teesside Crown Court on February 18, 2026.
Sentencing is set for April 7, 2026.
