A South Carolina woman was arrested for encouraging high school students to protest, after joining a chat with threats and plans to disrupt school.
Dinah Marie Chollet, 44, owner of The Knot Burger Pub in Summerville, was arrested on Feb. 18 on charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor after allegedly encouraging high school students to participate in a planned walkout on Feb. 20.
Authorities say she joined a group chat with about 80 students, expressed support for the protest, and shared messages from her personal accounts to influence them.
The chat reportedly included threats against public figures, discussions of weapons, and plans to disrupt school.
A school resource officer, using a burner Instagram account, monitored the chat and reported concerning content, including a referral to the FBI.
Chollet was booked into Dorchester County jail and released; the case remains under investigation.
