A provincial grant of $194,000 is covering about 40% of a $470,000 refurbishment for Plympton-Wyoming’s aging McKay Park outdoor pool, with work expected to be completed by the 2026 summer season.
Upgrades include a new liner, deck, filters, pumps, plumbing, electrical systems, washrooms, and a new lifeguard room.

The project, part of Ontario’s community sport and recreation infrastructure fund, supports local jobs and aims to extend the pool’s lifespan by 10 to 15 years.
Officials are fundraising for future replacement as final costs exceeded initial estimates.
