NIA files chargesheet in Haryana over cross-border trafficking network involving a fugitive Chinese suspect, targeting Indian youth for crypto fraud in Myanmar.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a chargesheet in Panchkula, Haryana, against three individuals, including a fugitive suspected Chinese national named Lisa, over a cross-border human trafficking and cyber fraud network based in Myanmar.
The accused allegedly lured Indian youth with false job promises in Thailand, then smuggled them to Myawaddy, Myanmar, where they were forced into running cryptocurrency fraud schemes targeting victims in the U.S., U.K., and Canada.
Victims were held against their will, threatened, and sometimes extorted to continue working.
The NIA, which took over the case from Haryana Police, cited digital evidence and survivor testimony, and has requested an Interpol Red Notice for the fugitive.
The chargesheet was filed on February 18, 2026, under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Emigration Act.
